This Forever 21 distressed denim jacket has been up-cycled in excellent condition. It has been hand painted with bright florescent colors, glitter hearts and stars, then topped off with layer of black paint. The juxtaposition of tones illustrates the mixed feelings that come along with getting older. The bright colors represent the jitters and excitement we feel leading up to a holiday dedicated to celebrating life! The dark paint that envelopes the bright colors reflects the shame and fear the beauty industry encourages us to feel about aging.
